︎ Scattered across the Aegean and Ionian seas ︎the greek islands︎ shape a charming morphology, as well as culture and tradition. Detached from the mainland, the shapes create an abstract pattern, like rocks randomly thrown in the ground.

Great summer of chalk
Great summer of cork
The red sails slanting in guts of wind
On the sea-floor white creatures, sponges
Accordions of the rocks
Perch from the fingers even of bad fishermen
Proud reefs on the fishing lines of the sun.

︎ The Argo-Saronic Islands, the Cyclades, the North Aegean islands, the Dodecanese, the Sporades, Euboea, the Ionian Islands and Crete. Numerous islands, islets and rocks that surround the mainland. A web of links in the mediterannean blue, washed by the hellenic sun’s bright light.

︎ A 50x70cm silkscreen print was created ︎ in 2 versions ︎ the first, with charcoal ink for the sea and phosphor for the islands –– on pvc sheet ︎ the second, with cyan on heavy stock, plus phosphor, so it glows in the night. In both versions the islands are clear varnished, in order to prevent the phosphor ink from fading. ¶ Gold ink was also incorporated in a couple of instances.
